In the summer of 1972, Eric Penny and I ( Robert Rotherham ) set forth on an epic surf adventure in search of uncrowded pristine beaches with perfect waves. Our search led us through Mexico and Central America, where we found what every surfer dreams about: Warm water all year around, perfect points, reefs, and beach breaks. Many of these destinations were kept secret for many years. But as fate has it the over crowded surfing conditions all over the world brought a new wave of explorers searching for the same illusions of perfect surf that put Eric and I on the road almost 30 years ago.

My search brought me to El Salvador where I opened a restaurant at the base of a perfect right hand point which has adopted its name from my restaurant ( Punta Roca ). Restaurant Punta Roca has been serving food, lodging, and information for travelers for almost 30 years. We are mentioned in almost all of the travel handbooks and guidebooks that have been written about Central America. We have the experience to show you a good time while you are in El Salvador.

Unlike our competition, Punta Roca Surf Adventures is based in La Libertad so we can guarantee a more personalized service. Our guides are very reliable and are obligated to keep the customers satisfied at all times.  Knowing that the waves are moody and can change on a daily basis, we do not stick to a strict itinerary. The Customer can design his own itinerary according to the daily surf conditions. Since I live in La Libertad and we keep our tour groups to a minimum, I can take care of any kind of problems that can occur, thus providing the best customer service possible.
